Join us as we track and help in the fight to save one of the
world's most amazing creatures, the Mountain gorilla. Decimated
by poachers, this magnificent ape is the largest living primate,
but tragically only a mere 630 exist in the wild. They are
the most endangered of the great ape family and one of the
most endangered animals on earth. A small zone where Rwanda, Uganda and the Congo converge
is among the few remaining areas where Mountain gorillas dwell.
Our adventure begins in Uganda amid bottomless crater lakes,
beautiful tea plantations and tropical rain forests and winds
it way down a chain of eight volcanoes. As we delve deeper
into the African wilds our days will be filled with wild game
tracking and overnights in luxurious rainforest lodges and
tented camps. Game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park
with the largest concentration of hippo in the world, the
best birding in Africa and walks in Maramagambo Forest where
bat caves abound are but a few of the awe-inspiring wild kingdom
field trips you'll take. As we climb to altitudes exceeding
7,500 feet, the terrain is rough and the hike demanding but
once the gorillas are located fatigue is forgotten, time stops,
and we live one of the most profound natural history experiences
in the world.
